John T. Bell, M.D.John T. Bell has been practicing in Central Florida since 1996, after moving from West Virginia. His wife is Brazilian, and together they have 4 children, ranging in age from 9 to 16 years. John completed his medical training at the Medical College of Georgia and interned in Denver Colorado. He returned to the Medical College to complete his ophthalmology training, and eventually started a practice in general ophthalmology in a small town in West Virginia. His practice in West Virginia performed the first small-incision foldable cataract implant in the state, and also provided an extensive experience in cataract, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. The long winters brought the Bell family to Central Florida, where he practiced until January 2010. John then joined Southeast Eye Specialists in Tallahassee, Florida.
According to John, the best part of ophthalmology is meeting the patients and seeing them benefit from all the treatment options we have today. The new developments in cataract implants, macular degeneration, diabetic and dry eye disease have improved the quality of life for our patients. It is a pleasure working with such skilled doctors and staff at Southeast Eye Specialists. John T. Bell will provide surgical eye care for cataracts, glaucoma, eyelid conditions and external eye diseases. The office currently has new laser and eye imaging technology and also provides treatment for medical eye disease.
